Shorttakes

Rachel Long Sampler - Rachel grew up nearby in Bucks County, PA.  Her sampler has several local influences, including Quaker, Scottish & Berlin work.  It's always so fun to see something that was originally from our neck of the woods.

Gracie Palmer - While this one looks old-fashioned, it is an original sampler!

Daddy's Little Girl Needlebook - What a sweet little needlebook!  This chartpak includes complete finishing directions as well.  Love the beads along the edge.

Lucretia Dibble  - This is a reproduction of a sampler originally stitched in Connecticut.  Lucretia's grandfather actually established the town & there is a bit of her family history  included in the chartpak (I just love when they do that!).

Blackwater Blooms - This original design was inspired by the Dutch Masters & their love of floral still life!

Dutch Steps Duo - Another duo leaflet from NeedleWork Press & GigiR!  Based on the idea of Dutch Steps, they represent the different stages of man, with each step representing 10 years.  The first usually has a cradle or an ifant, and the last step generally had a coffin underneath.  It is interesting to learn all the different meanings behind the motifs you often see.

Busy Bee Sampler - Love the colors in this sampler & I'm assuming that the chart has the entire verse reproduced.

A Series of Quaker Medallions - Hemstitch borders were often created before the piece was embroidered.  Quaker medallions were especially nice for these as they could be squared off at the edge!  This chartpak has 12 different quaker motifs that you can make your own!

EF 1836 & 1837 Sampler - 2 pretty pieces ~ stitched either together or separately.

Elinor Brad 1823 Sampler - A lovely sampler with a wonderful verse about best friends!

Sarah Barker 1840 Sampler - Ohmygosh, I LOVE this border!!!  Love the soft colors, but that border...

Stitching Makes Me Happy - I think we all need to stitch this for ourselves!

Americana Drum PinKeep - A fabulous patriotic drum!

Wall Decor Series: Bloom - Love this idea!  And this one with the bees & flowers makes me happy!

Wall Decor Series: Hoppy Easter - Easter is on its way!

Wall Decor Series: Summer Buzz - I am SO ready to welcome summer!

Spring Chicken - I think this is DARLING!

Rearview Easter - Those are some BIG Easter eggs!  If they're filled with chocolate, I hope that truck is stopping at my house.

My Stitching Room - Perfect for your stitching room "decor"!

Just One More Stitch - I love Amy's whimsical designs!  On this one, I love that "I stitch past my bedtime"!  Too true.

3 Birds & a Bee - Are these not just too cute?  You can get the prefinished shape, stitch it & stuff it, or (or course) you can stitch it on whatever fabric you like & have Therese make it into a little creature!

Believe it or not, we are NOT finished with the 5th floor, but several designers haven't posted full pictures yet, and my ears can't handle much more soprano arias.  So the next time you'll hear from me (hopefully tomorrow!), we'll be in a lower range ~ hmm....jazz, country, rock, reggae??  I wonder what it'll be...

Hugs & stitches ~
